In which I pretend to be a film theorist

After I saw the new Terrence Malick film To The Wonder and my date (SATAN WAS SO OVER IT illustrator Nate McDonough) and I correctly anticipated a scene in which an ethereal women enjoys spontaneity in a sun drenched wheat field, I penned this piece for Vice about one of my favorite good directors. To summarize, "Adorno > Heidegger".

Also check out my prior essay on Michael Haneke, part of my ongoing "Why Not?" series on directors I like. I can't believe some people get to do this for work.
